Company History

The Script Wizard Software Company has been providing software and consulting services to entertainment industry professionals and companies for over 20 years.  A pioneer in the development of script writing software, founder Stefani Warren introduced the first full-service script writing "add-on" in 1988.  In 1991, the company moved into the Windows environment with the release of Script Wizard®, a product which brought the state of the art in script processing software to new levels of sophistication and versatility. Script Wizard® is used by independent screenwriters, playwrights, and teachers, in theatres, in production offices, and in classrooms in the U.S. and Europe.  Our custom applications have been the backbone of production offices for such television shows as “Cheers”, “General Hospital”, and “Passions.”  ProsePro, the professional prose writing template, was developed in 1999 for fiction and non-fiction writers and poets.

Our long history of exceptional writer-friendly product support continues to attract and hold the loyalty of working writers all over the world, and we are committed to maintaining that standard as we begin to support teachers and students at all levels of academic endeavor in 2006.

Homage to Heritage

Like so many other tech industry businesses, Script Wizard Software is a niche market pioneer in the computer-based technologies that ultimately rendered the typewriter obsolete. In this our 21st year in business, our site pays homage to that legacy with a collection of images of the "primitive" technologies that have gone before. The IBM ad (right) was seen everywhere in 1973 and touted what would turn out to be the last revolution in typewriter technology - the release of the first correcting or "erasing" typewriter. The Selectric -- arguably the most sophisticated typewriter ever to come onto the market -- is still in use in homes and offices today, although the holdouts are now few and far between.
